Abstract: | Human serum low density lipoprotein (LDL) and human serum high density lipoprotein (HDL) were treated with ultrasonic irradiation. The immunochemical properties, spectrophotometrical analysis and thiobarbituric acid test (TBA) value of ultrasonically irradiated lipoproteins were examined. The agar gel precipitin reaction of sonicated LDL disappeared as the irradiation time increased. The effects of ultrasonic irradiation upon human serum lipoproteins resulted in a loss of lipids from the sonicated lipoproteins and are increased in TBA value. TBA value of LDL increased in two steps. |
