应用PTC限流元件的低压断路器

摘    要:传统的低压断路器由于依靠电弧来消耗电弧分断能量,所以分断能力受到约束。本文介绍一种新型的PTC限流元件,它与传统断路器组合后,能吸收大部分的分断能量,从而大大提高断路器的分断能力。

Abstract:In conventional low voltage circuit breakers, almost 100% of the interruption energy is consumed by arcing during current interruption. So, the breaking capacity of the conventional circuit breakers is limited. This paper introduced a new current limiting element PTC that is a positive temperature coefficient resistivity material. Combining with conventional circuit breaker, PTC can convert most of the interruption energy into thermal energy and greatly raises the breaking capacity of the circuit breakers.
