Abstract: | We report on resonant electron tunneling through Cu-Se microstructure fabricated by direct current electro-deposition in templates formed by etching the tracks of heavy ions in polymer (polycarbonate) foils. Negative differential resistance has been observed in the I-V curves of the so fabricated array of Cu-Se microstructures. Results show that electrochemical deposition in the pores of nuclear track filters can be very effective way of fabricating resonant tunneling diodes. SEM results show that the diameter of these aligned microstructures are consistent with the diameter of the templates used. |
