| Abstract: | Flonicamid is a trifluoromethyl-substituted nicotinamide insecticide with an excellent activity against sucking pests such as aphids. The paper introduced discovery approach, mechanism of action and toxicology profile of flonicamid, reviewed the major synthetic routes to flonicamid and its intermediates, summarized its applications at present, and expected the market development in the future. |
