Analysis of calculation of water-earth pressure of soft clays in design of deep foundation pit

There is a problem of groundwater on the foundation pit project ,which affects the calculation of earth pressure in the design of foundation pit project. Now,for gravel and sandy soil, the method of separated ealcuation of earth and water pressure has been recognized. But there is a drastic debate that a choice must be made between the method of combined calculation and the method of separated calculation for low penetrative soft clays. Starting with the calculation mechanism, above calculation methods are analysed. And based on the practical foundation pit project of Shanghai , the method of amending coefficient of distribution graphics of earth pressure is presented.
