Abstract: | AbstractMagnetic carbon nanotube (CNT) composites have been successfully fabricated by employing a microwave assisted method after sensitisation and activation. The phase structures and morphologies of the composites were characterised in detail by transmission electron microscope and X-ray powder diffraction. The results show that sensitisation and activation are absolutely necessary for a dense layer of magnetic nanoparticles obtained on the surface of CNTs. Magnetic measurements using a vibrating sample magnetometer demonstrate that the prepared composites are ferromagnetic. |
