具有当代世界先进水平的宝钢5m厚板轧机于2005年3月1日一次试轧成功.投产三年以来,宝钢分公司厚板厂组织学习、跟踪当今世界厚板工艺技术,并在实践中摸索厚板生产、质量控制等方面的特有规律,逐步熟练驾驭这套现代化厚板轧机,使分公司厚板产能逐年提升,2007年完成交库量141万t,顺利实现年达产.在提升产能的同时,宝钢分公司注重开发厚板工艺及新产品,迄今宝钢厚板产品已形成船板、管线板、锅炉和压力容器用板、桥梁及建筑用板等系列.
