Regulating reservoir plays an important role in the function demonstration,safety guarantee and stable operation of long-distance diversion project.Taking Wanjiazhai Yellow River Diversion Project for example,the author gives a brief account of geography environment and function needs of the areas water flows along,analyzes the data of regulating reservoir along the line of Wanjiazhai Diversion Project showing the importance of regulating reservoir in the long-distance diversion project,which gives a reference for the same types of project design research.
