Abstract:Due to the fact that the study on asphalt concrete by experiments or experience is based on macro-mechanical behavior,which cannot reflect the influence of the microstructure of asphalt concrete,Fast Multipole Boundary Element Method(FMBEM) and digital image processing technology are used to build model and predict the elastic modulus for asphalt concrete.By digital image processing,the original sample images are recognized and processed on equivalence,and numerical model is established.Considering the influence of void ratio and size,the numerical model is closer to reality.The Effective elastic modulus of asphalt concrete is predicted by FMBEM,and the asphalt mortar(aggregate and asphalt),coarse aggregate,void ratio and size,and aggregate gradations are analyzed.Compared with the test results,the method can better predict the macro-mechanical behavior of asphalt concrete.
