摘    要:在中国人的饮食生活中,羊具有特殊的文化象征意蕴,即美性与德性。这两个象征意蕴的形成,有其深厚的文化根基,是中国人祈吉求福、从善如流在饮食生活中的精神体现。这是结合考古学、文字学和民俗学的研究成果所得出的结论。

Abstract:Sheep (yang) bears a special cultural connotation for Chinese people, namely aesthetics and ethics. The formation of the symbolic meanings may be rooted in their profound cultural foundation which symbolizes Chinese moral values of blessings for happiness and willingness to follow good advice readily. The conclusion is made on the basis of the results achieved in archaeology, philology and folklore.
