Application of polyaniline in corrosion prevention on metal

Polyaniline(PANi) is one of the most studied conducting polymers,this paper reviews the application of APNi as corrosion coating for metals,discusses the mechanism of corrosion prevention and forecast the developing trend and future application.PANi's presence makes metal and the coating interface form a layer of compact metal oxide film,so that the metal electrode potential going into the passive area,and makes metal get protection.PANi as anticorrosion coating has a unique scratch and pitting corrosion resistance properties,has a broad prospect and can be a new type of metal corrosion coatings in the harsh conditions.
