Abstract: | The contact resistances between two samples of zirconia based electrolytes ZrO2 Y2O3 9 mole% were measured under small direct polarizations and by the impedance diagram technique. The influences of the oxygen pressure and temperature on these contact resistances indicate that no neutral adsorbed oxygen particle is involved in the predominant process of oxygen exchange between the two phases in contact. The direct exchange of ions is likely to prevail. The characteristics of the capacitive effect measured at the contact are also consistent with this assumption. |
