Abstract: | A patient with ultrasound-detected polycystic ovaries and anovulatory oligomenorrhea had extremely low luteinizing hormone (LH) levels, but a heightened sensitivity to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). Of interest is the finding of undetectable basal LH levels. This rare presentation may suggest that polycystine ovarian syndrome (PCOS) features may be a consequence of the increased response of LH, independently on basal levels of LH. |
