介绍了2003年1～11月冶金矿山生产经营情况，突出表现在产量大幅度增加、技术改造步伐加快、国内铁精矿价格持续走高。分析了冶金矿山面临的严峻形势，进一步提出了2004年冶金矿山应抓住发展机遇．采取综合措施，努力提高资源利用效率，增加有效供给能力，为钢铁工业的持续快速协调健康发展做出新的贡献。

Grasping Development Opportunity and Taking Comprehensive Measures to Make New Contribution to A Rapid, Sustainable and Coordinated Development of Iron and Steel Industry

The operation conditions of China's metallurgical mines from Jan., to Nov., 2003 are described, which are characterized by great increase of the production, speeding up pace of technical transformation and continuous going up price of domestic iron concentrate. The severe situation faced by the metallurgical mines is analysed. It is further proposed that in 2004, the metallurgical mines should grasp the development opportunity and take comprehensive measurs to raise the utilization rate of resources and increase the effective supplying ability,thus making new contribution to a rapid, sustainable and healthy development of China's iron and steel industry.
