The prospects of the application of nanometric materials in coatings

The developments and applications of the nanometric technology are systematic projects including basic research, materials manufacturing and merchandizing, development of application methods, performance characterization and standards for evaluation. The authors believe that the uses of nanometric materials in coatings are still in the starting stage. Some introductions are made on the features of nanometric materials to be used in the coatings formulations. Some views are given on how to carry out the basic research for application.
