Abstract:Two kinds of WC-12Co powder with different morphology and processing technology were used as feedstock for supersonic atmospheric plasma spray (SAPS). The effect of powder morphology on the microstructure, composition and properties of WC-12Co coatings was characterized with sprayingwatch-2i, SEM and XRD. The results show that compared with the spheroidal, agglomerated and sintered WC-12Co powder, the sintered and crushed WC-12Co powder with higher density takes on less decomposition in the plasma jet, lower porosity rate, higher hardness and homogenous distributing as well.
