Abstract:A method for studying etching sensitivity of mineral tracks by measuring maximum projected lengths of spontaneous fission tracks from 238U is reported. This method can effectively solve the problems of selecting etching conditions of minerals. The etching sensitivities under three etching conditions for apatite from the Fish Canyon Tuff of Southwestern Colorado, USA were measured successfully.
