Abstract:At present,the calculation method of series number of PV modules in GB 50797-2012 or IEC 62548-2016 is widely used in the design of PV power station,which assumes the calculation of open circuit voltage and maximum power point voltage of PV module string under extreme ambient low temperature conditions,and then determines the series number of PV modules.With the requirements for LCOE have become increasingly stringent,and the requirements of the national standard have been conservative in the series number of PV modules.The latest edition of IEC 62738-2018 proposes to use the annual average minimum ambient temperature for series number of PV modules calculations,and no longer requires extreme ambient low temperatures for calculations.If the data is sufficient,it is allowed to calculate the minimum ambient temperature limited to the sunshine time.On this premise,based on the recent experience in the calculation of the series number of PV modules of PV power station in international super large projects,we have realized the prediction of the relationship between the minimum ambient temperature and solar irradiance on the basis of a large number of meteorological data,and on this basis,the open circuit voltage and maximum power point voltage of PV modules string are calculated,the method to determine the series number of PV modules.Taking a project in the Middle East as an example,the serise number of PV modules calculated will be 2~4 more than the number calculated by GB 50797-2012 or IEC 62548-2016.It can significantly save the investment in PV power stations and reduce the LCOE.
