Abstract: | The effective heats of combustion of two commonly used transformer‐insulating fluids, a high molecular weight hydrocarbon fluid and a 50 cS silicone fluid, have been measured using a controlled‐atmosphere cone calorimeter. The study shows that the cone calorimeter is a good tool to measure the effective heats of combustion of transformer‐insulating fluids. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
