A comparison of recent german and american training programs for subprofessional workers in psychology.
Authors:Bringmann, Wolfgang   Fischer, Heinz
Abstract:The training of subprofessional workers has become an increasingly popular solution for the serious manpower shortage in clinical psychology in North America. The present paper reviews a recently published Vocational Guide for Female Psychological-Technical Assistants which was developed by the Professional Association of German Psychologists. The history and present status of the training program, the responsibilities of the technologists, their practical and theoretical training and their certification are described and compared with similar programs in the United States.
