EXITING ENERGY DISTRIBUTION IN HONEYDEW MELON IRRADIATED WITH A NEAR INFRARED BEAM1 |

| Abstract: | Emitted intensity was measured at 15° increments from the incident beam and around the equator of a honeydew melon which was irradiated with a near infrared beam. Signal strength was adequate up to 75° to provide a usable spectrum for NIR analysis of internal tissue. A noisy but recognizable spectrum was obtained at 180°. |
