Abstract:For the structural characteristics of SG steering knuckle with complex shape and large change in forging section,as well as the forging defects such as collapse,lack of material and folding in actual forging production,the finite element model of SG steering knuckle was established by finite element software Deform 3 D,the bending,pre-forging and final forging molds were constructed,and the metal flow processes of pre-forgings and final forgings were analyzed. Then,the three processes of bending,pre-forging and final forging for SG steering knuckle were tested on-site production to verify the correctness of mold design and process scheme and the accuracy of numerical simulation results,and it was concluded that the steering knuckle with long rod should be produced by roll forging blank-making and bending process,and combining with compound forming process of die forging. In the test,the material utilization rate of SG steering knuckle forgings is up to 80. 8 %,the pass rate is up to 97. 9 %,and the life of a single mold is extended to produce 900 pieces.
