Research on auxiliary forming method and device of large-size electric upsetting side die

Aiming at the problems of shape defects and grain coarsening in the process of large-size electric upsetting process,the large-size electric upsetting side die auxiliary forming method has been proposed and the electric upsetting side die auxiliary forming device has been designed,which provides new idea and method for large-size electric upsetting production.The multi-scale finite element analysis model of the electric upsetting process and the side die auxiliary forming model have been established on the Marc analysis platform.By comparing the simulation results of the two forming methods,it is found that the electric upsetting side die auxiliary forming method can not only optimize the shape of the electric upsetting part to avoid macro defects,but also effectively control the microstructure to achieve grain refinement.The optimization of parameters including side die temperature and press-down value has been conducted to the Nimonic 80 A superalloy rod blank with a diameter of 57 mm.
