Abstract:The percentage of renewable energy in electricity consumption will exceed 70%in 2050,and the depth and width of the application of energy storage system will decide the continuing development of new energy.Although the percentage of the pumped hydroelectric storage is the highest,due to its strong limitation,the energy storage of lithium ion battery plays a pivotal role in practice.The research bottleneck of the lithium ion battery is its safety.The improvement of energy density is opposite to the safety guarantee.The percentage of lithium ion battery in energy storage was discussed.The current safety risk,the occurred accidents and the issued standards were analyzed.Several prevention and promotion safety strategies of lithium ion battery were provided.It’s concluded that there is still a long journey to overcome the safety problems and multiparty must attend in the everlasting battle.
