Analysis and Reviews on the Typical Failure Forms of Cold Roll

Three typical failure forms of cold rolls,which are fraction,spalling and abrasion,were summarized.The damaged location and direction that roll neck and work roll fracture,typical fracture macrographs,locations of crack origin and their causes were emphatically analyzed.In addition,The general macrograph characters of spalling of bonding layer and shallow working lining,and their causes were described.The present status of roll abrasion model was summarized,the typical roll spalling predicting model was introduced in more detail, and the future study on cold roll was finally prospected.It is valuable for the work of roll damage and further research.
