Abstract: | New types of styryl cyanine dyes (V) containing two different heterocyclic nuclei were prepared through the reaction of 5-cyanonaphth1,2-]-oxazole-2-carboxaldehyde (IV) with α-picoline and quinaldine ethiodides. Other styryl bases (III) were also obtained as reaction products between 2-methyl-5-cyanonaphth1,2-d]oxazole (I) and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of anhydrous zinc chloride. Structural configurations of the synthesised compounds were identified by u.v. and i.r. spectra determination. |
