| Abstract: | This paper describes the types and properties of chalcogenide glass and some methods of purifying the glass-forming materials, introduces the glass melting process and methods for manufacturing optical fibers and image guide bundles and also discusses the application of chalcogenide glass fibers in civil, medical and military fields as well as their developing prospects. |
