摘    要:采用氧化还原自由基聚合的方法,将丙烯酸甲酯单体接枝到氧化炭黑的表面,并进行粒径分布、扫描电子显微镜,及zeta电位对其在IsoparL中分散性表征,结果显示,聚丙烯酸甲酯接枝的炭黑在IsoparL中的分散性有明显的提高。将表面修饰后的纳米炭黑粒子用作电泳显示器件的黑色显色粒子,在0.3V/μm的驱动电场下,具有良好的显示性能,对比度达到5.25,响应时间934ms。

Surface Modification of Carbon Black Nanoparticles for Electrophoretic Display

Abstract:The polymerization acrylate monomer is grafted to the surface oxidation of the carbon black by redox radical method. And the corresponding characteriscs were anaylized by particle size distribution, scanning electron microscopy images and zeta potential. The results reveal that the dispersity of poly (methyl acrylate) -grafted carbon black nanoparticles in Isopar L was enhanced obviously. The display prototype, based on poly (methyl acrylate) -grafted carbon black nanoparticles as black particles, exhibited preferable display performance with a contrast ratio of 5.25 and a response time of 934 ms under the applied electric field intensity of 0.3 V/μm .
