Abstract: | The thickness of the ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene used in the tibial inserts of total knee arthroplasties has become topical in recent years. A discrepancy has been found between the nomenclature of tibial inserts and the actual minimum thickness of polyethylene. Although the recommended minimum thickness is being discussed, it is important to clarify what is actually being used, with an indication to change and unify how these inserts are named. |
