THE PROPERTIES AND SOME APPLICATIONS OF CARBONYL-NICKEL POWDERS |
| |
Abstract: | AbstractNickel carbonyl, formed by the reaction of carbon monoxide with a nickel concentrate, can be decomposed in a heated space to produce pure nickel in powder form. By varying the decomposition conditions it is possible to achieve a wide range of powders, differing in particle shape and size distribution. The properties of carbonyl-nickel powders now commercially available or in an advanced stage of development are discussed, and it is shown how such powders can be used for some applications in which specific properties are required. |
