城市设计是一门研究和设计城市的学科，它源于建筑设计和城市规划专业，研究的是城市中最重要和最根本的内容，在融汇了规划、建筑、经济、景观、市政、人文等等知识之后，成为城市规划建设领域兼具综合性和实施性的学科，正如培根所言：“未来城市环境质量将依赖技巧高超、感觉敏锐的城市设计师的创造性想象和智力”，国内的城市设计师们现在是时候行动起来建立自己的专业体系。

Urban Design as the Key for the Urban Planning

Urban design is an inter-discipline that focuses on urban studies and designing. It starts from architectural design and urban planning. Combined with the concepts of planning, architecture, economy, landscape, civil engineering, culture and so on, it becomes a comprehensive and practical discipline to study the most important and fundamental content of urban research. As Bacon mentioned “the future of urban environmental quality depends on creative imagination and intelligence of urban designers with high technology and keen sense” in his theory, it’s time for city designers to build up their professional education.
