| Abstract: | The electrochemical chlorination of cyclohexene has been studied in the same solvents (acetonitrile, N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide and methanol) as those previously used for the bromination of this alkene.The oxidation peaks of the chloride ion are modified by addition of cyclohexene in a different way according to the solvent used. The simultaneous formation of mixed compounds with dichlorocyclohexane shows the solvents participation to the nucleophilic attack of the chloronium ion. |
