Application of strain energy density factor to fatigue crack growth analysis

Abstract:The rate of crack propagation is postulated to be a function of the strain energy density factor range, which is used to correlate the subcritical crack growth data of several different materials. Subsequently, this concept is applied to predict crack growth due to spectrum loads.
