ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL AND CLOSED LOOP REAL TIME OPTIMIZATION

The technology in advanced process control and closed loop real time optindzation developed by DMC Corporation is introduced. The DMC]TM package is made up of a comprehensive set of programs which uses formal, mathematically rigorous, multivariable process model identification, and model based, constrained and optimal control technology. The DMC]TM controller has prediction, linear program for constraint handling and economic optimization, and optimal control move calculation functions to maximize plant profitability consistently and predictably. The second package, DMO]TM is a steady state process modeling, flowsheet building, and open-equation based optimization system for solving largescale nonlinear problems. A closed loop real time optimization application works in conjunction with the advanced process control system. The optimization software uses real time data to update model parameters, and then solve for the most profitable set of operating conditions.
