s:Ceramides are an important class of compounds due to their role as biologically active molecules and as intracellular second messengers, showing a great applicable potential in cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry.The identification of the molecular structure of ceramides and the preparative separation process for ceramides are crucial for elucidating their function in metabolism and for their potential applications.Presented in this paper is an overview of the recent establishment and future perspectives in the analysis and the separation methods for ceramides.
