Abstract:Wave-splitting of Maxwell's equations on a curved surface in three-dimension is derived from the conditions for out-going and in-coming waves. The condition for out-going wave is used to derive an absorbing boundary condition on a non-planar surface. A local approximation of the absorbing boundary condition is given. As a special case, a spherical absorbing boundary which truncates the computational domain is also considered in detail.
