Latest Development of Corrosion Monitoring Techniques in Petrochemical Industry

As increasing amount of imported high-sulfur crude oils are processed in the refineries and petrochemical plants, great effort has been made to control the corrosion of the process units, which leads to a rapid development of testing techniques for refinery equipment corrosion. Here described are the development of on-line electro-chemical testing process, electric-resistance microprobe technique, inductance microprobe technique, local area network and world wide web for corrosion testing and monitoring. The application of the new testing technologies is also introduced.
