Abstract: | Anodic coupling of thiophene- (1) and cyclopentadithiophene- (2) hexyl acrylates in acetonitrile to polythiophenes is reported. The resulting polymers have been characterized by cyclic voltammetry, UV–vis and FTIR spectroscopy and in-situ conductivity. The produced polythiophene films, for which FTIR analysis show that the acrylate moiety is kept unchanged, display high conjugation lengths (λmax=520 (1) and 600 (2) nm) and conductivities (20 (1) and 100 (2) S cm−1). |
