Economic Growth and Rising Demand Bringing an Overall Booming-up of World's Petrochemical Market--A Review of the First Quarter and the Prospect of the second quarter in 2004

The first quarter of 2004 saw a world' s drastic increase in its demand for oil ,and there has been, as a result, a severe deficiency of American commercial oil inventory. OPEC insists on continuing its output-reducing implementation, resulting in a stead fast high oil price and tightened supply-demand relationship. The second quarter will continue to experience world' s rising demand for oil,low oil inventory and high-level oil price fluctuation. Meanwhile, world petrochemical market revives quickly with global economic recovery, gradually shaking off its years' s slack status. The continuous going-up of oil price in the first quarter was due to supply shortage and failure to meet growing demand. And owing to maintenance of petrochemical plants across the world, supply-demand relationship worsens and market prices will continue to rise.
