Analysis of operation and improvement approach of COREX-3000

The actual productive achievement and overcoming technical problem in Baosteel No.1 COREX-3000 furnace in recent 4 years operation is proseated and analyzed. The dramatic advancement of process technique and operation of COREX-3000 furnace are systematically summarized. The important indices, such as the fuel ratio, coke ratio and availability are improved year after year. The critical problems affected the stable operation of COREX-3000 furnace have been solved basically, for instance, the longer period of shaft furnace emptying is achieved; the damaged tuyeres are decreased largely; the blockage of downpipe and gas generation pipe is reduced remarkably; the quality of hot metal is stabilized; and the stability of equipment operation is improved step by step. The further advancement and perfection of COREX process and technical development direction of cost reduction are brought out.
