通过余姚市这一具有悠久历史文化传统的城市的城区中心旧城改造概念性城市设计构思及其所引发的思考，探讨如何根据城市建设项目的性质、规模、场地及周围环境的情况等基本条件，不刻板拘泥于对传统形式的借鉴，用时代的规划设计语汇营造城市空间的个性。

Contemporary Language of Planning and Design and Creation of Charactered Urban Space:Conceptual Urban Design and Renewal of Yuyao City Centre

Starting from the reflections brought by conceptual urban design for city center of Yuyao, which is a city with rich traditional culture, this paper explores the fundamental conditions of this project, such as functional requirements, size of the development and its expected impact on urban economy and environment, and existing situation of the site and its surroundings. Instead of sticking to the conventional solution of adopting modified form of traditional architectural style, this paper introduces the language of innovative planning and design in order to create new charactered urban space.
