| Abstract: | College English is a compulsory course in each university and has the same teaching contents for students with different majors.However, how to teach English for special purpose （ ESP） is the subject of current college English teaching reform, especially of innovations in the English teaching in the newly-built universities.Take the major of computer science as an example.This paper analyses the present situation of college English teaching and, based on the characteristics of computer profession, some strategies for the reform and innovation in ESP teaching are proposed. |
