| 摘 要： | 认知隐喻和认知转喻不仅具有修饰功能,而且还与思维相关,是词义延伸的两种主要方式。以英文hand和heart为语料,从认知隐转喻的角度分析词义延伸现象。研究表明,以事物"相似性"为基础的隐喻和以"邻近性"关系为基础的转喻在词义延伸中发挥着举足轻重的作用。而且,多义现象还为人类认识事物起到了经济和省力的作用。

| Abstract: | Cognitive metaphor and cognitive metonymy not only have the function of modification but they also are related to thought.Besides, they are the two main ways of meaning extension.Based on the English word “hand” and “heart”, the paper analyzes the phenomenon of meaning extension from the perspective of cognitive metaphor and metonymy.Results show that metaphor based on similarity and metonymy based on contiguity play a very important role in the extension of word meaning.What’s more, the phenomenon of polysemy helps people cognize things in a way with less time and effort. |
