| Abstract: | MAC protocol is a key technology in APON system, so this paper makes great efforts to investigate it from a general viewpoint. The current development of MAC protocol is presented from several aspects, such as carried services, the object of bandwidth allocation, the channel of requests and dynamic bandwidth assignment. Furthermore, a new problem is introduced at the end of this paper expecting more study. |
