The article introduces the lightning protection design and measures in Phase I intelligent system of Shanghai Xiangmei Garden. With the increasing demand to residence environment, the intelligent system of the residential community is more and more complicated and the demand to lightning protection is also increased. During the initial construction period of Shanghai Xiangmei Garden Phase I, due to no effective lightning protection measures are adopted, part of intelligent system is damaged by the lightning strike. After adopting new lightning protection design and effective lightning protection measures, the obvious effect is obtained. Thus, the ＂safe and comfortable＂ environment of high-level residential community is reflected and the better economic and social benefits are obtained.
