Production and Market of Maleic Anhydride

The present situation of producing maleic anhydride was described. Technical analysis between produc-tion routes from benzene and n - butane as material had been made. The emphasis was put on the processes using n - butane as material including ALMA process, BP process, SD process and CONSER - PANTOCHIM process. The consumption and market at home and abroad were introduced in detail. It was pointed out that the key to produce maleic anhydride from n - butane was the development of catalysts. Some proposals on production were put forward.
