| Abstract: | The development history of extrusion theory for the single-screw extruder has been retrospected in this paper. The latest theories progress of solid conveying、melting、melt conveying and mixing have been reviewed in detail. With the existing deficiencies being designated，the prospective research directions for the single-screw extruder have been put forward. |
