Abstract: | Abstract Based on the correlated theories of hydrodynamics, an integrated model coupling percolation in the reservoir with variable mass pipe flow of the multilateral well with different completion methods is established by means of the analysis method of pressure system. In the model, coupling of percolation in the reservoir, variable mass flow in the horizontal pipe, and multiphase pipe flow of the bending section and vertical section and the production lift methods are considered comprehensively. The integrated model can be used not only to calculate the coordinated values of production rate and pressure of the multilateral well and production contribution of each lateral in the coordinated point but to analyze production rate distribution and pressure distribution along the horizontal section. An example of a three-branched horizontal well with different kinds of completion methods, such as open hole completion, perforation completion, and slotted liner completion, is given. The results indicate that the model is instructive on production of a multilateral well, which has a bright future in the petroleum industry. |
