RESEARCH PROGRESS OF THE ROCKING FRAME STRUCTURE SYSTEM

Rocking structure system is a new type of structure systems,which relaxs the constraints between the upper structure and foundation,and the constraints within structural conponents.Compression stress existing in the contact surfaces rather than tension stress makes ensures that the structure reseting through the gravity and prestressed response mechanism after uplifting under the action of earthquake.In such process,the rocking behavior of structure is created,which can effectively reduce the components damage degree and improve the seismic resistance performance with easy repair after the earthquake.In this paper,the basic mechanics principle of the rocking structure system is systematically introduced,and the research progress of the experiments,numerical simulation,and design method of the two kinds of structures is mainly discussed.Finally,the deficiencies and development direction of the system research are pointed out,so as to provide reference for the following works.
