Forschungsarbeiten am Institut für Metallurgie an der TU Clausthal

A survey is given on current research activities at the Institute of Metallurgy in the field of metallurgical process technology. General subjects are contributions for optimizing existing processes and development of new ones. Goals are progression, in the efficiency of resources and process economy as well as improved product quality and the fabrication of new materials with better properties. The spectrum contains experimental basic research, mathematical modelling up to operating of pilot plants. Some current projects are described from the fields of pneumatic conveying (coal injecting), blast furnace tuyeres, modelling, scale formation, heat transfer and DSC strip casting.
